I’m Comin’ Home, Tell the World, I’m Comin’ Home

Diddy’s latest diddy says it perfectly: “I’m coming home”… for a little while, anyways.

Me with the soon-to-be Mrs. Jenn Leeper!

Next week I’ll be on a plane to Boston for a dear friend’s wedding and to spend time with some loved ones. On the docket: Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee, lots of rug cutting at the wedding post-several adult beverages, cheap seats at a Sox game, delicious Town Spa pizza, fresh Maine lobster and squeezing the F out of my sister’s cat, Gus. And possibly packing him in my suitcase before I head back to LA.

In all of my excitement for my east coast return, and in commemoration of next week being my one year residential anniversary in the Golden State, I’ve posted a few pictures that portray the essence of what has been “home” to me for so many years. Here I go getting all sentimental…

Enjoy these beauties :)

Proud Mass. natives, gear up for a Wicked Summah

“You ready to live togethah, laugh togethah, drink togethah and love togethah?”

That’s the question posed to local Massachusetts residents who think they have what it takes to star in “Wicked Summer,” the spin-off of MTV’s “Jersey Shore.”

Localize the Jersey Shore flavor here in Massachusetts and you’ll likely get a good mix of hard-core beer-drinking, aggressive-driving,  Red Sox die hards. And I’m sure all of the Massachusetts stigmas will be jacked up for the effect of dramatic TV.

Is a Bostonian Snookie possible??

According to E! Online News, producers are looking for, “blue collar, hard working, harder partying, tough talking, damn good looking Mass natives from all over the state.”

Interested in auditioning? NESN.com lists some attributes that may get you casted for the reality show:

  • A profound love of Sam Adams beer.
  • The ability to flawlessly navigate a rotary.
  • A refusal to use your blinkah.
  • An understanding that a yellow light means you still have five seconds to get through the intersection.
  • An understanding that stop signs mean yield, and that yield signs should be ignored.
  • The common decency to flip the bird to anyone who cuts you off.
  • An understanding of the I-95/Route 128 conundrum.
  • An understanding of what a bubblah is.
  • The ability to correctly pronounce Worcester, Gloucester, Leominster and Peabody.
  • Having friends named Fitzy, Mac and Sully.

While the concept is great to poke fun at, I’m a little concerned about the bad rap Massachusetts is going to get once this show hits the air. If we’re ever considered on the same level as the idiotic, bar fighting, trash talking  bimbos of “Jersey Shore,” it’s going to knock us down a few pegs on the pride ladder. I loved the MTV show and watched every episode, anxiously awaiting more drama, but I took solace in thinking, thank god I don’t live there or hang out with people like them.

What do you think about “Wicked Summer” coming to Boston?
